How To Reduce The Power Consumption Of Bluetooth Device

 The working mode of the Bluetooth module is intermittent work, that is, the work stops for a period of time. This interval can be set (refer to the previous section). At the moment of working, the power consumption of the chip will reach a peak value, and when it stops working, the power consumption will decrease instantly. Therefore, there are several ways to reduce the power consumption of the Bluetooth device:

1. When the Bluetooth device is not connected to send a broadcast, you can reduce the power consumption by increasing the broadcast interval, but it will reduce the probability of the mobile phone scanning to the Bluetooth and affect the connection time between the mobile phone and the Bluetooth.

2. After connection, appropriately increasing the connection interval can reduce the overall power consumption of the chip, but at the same time the communication speed will also be reduced.

3. When the Bluetooth device is not communicating, the MCU enters sleep (standby). When the Bluetooth device needs to communicate, it will wake up the MCU through the IRQ interrupt pin. After the communication is completed, it will continue to sleep, which can also reduce the overall power consumption of the chip.

4. Reducing the transmit power of the Bluetooth device can reduce the peak power consumption of the chip to achieve the purpose of reducing the average power consumption, but it will affect the communication distance.
